ANAHEIM, Calif. --- When you think of the superlatives that distinguish standout strikers, you might think of several accomplishments that Lorenzo "Enzo" Roberson earned during his two years with Cypress College Men's Soccer.
 
An Anaheim-native and graduate of Western High School, Roberson has his name in a few different places in the men's soccer recordbook for the Chargers. And with the combination of individual and team success Roberson contributed to in 2019, Head Coach Torrey Stricklin's team is eager to see the forward maintain that momentum while he wears a Biola kit. 
 
"I am thrilled to welcome Lorenzo to our program. He is a fantastic young man who is the right fit for what we are building here at Biola, both on and off the field. He also had a lot of good offers coming out of junior college and we are very happy to sign him," said Coach Stricklin. "Lorenzo is a very athletic and powerful 6'4 target that has really good feet and awareness. On top of that, he is a leader and proven goal scorer. I am very excited to coach him and be a part of his life moving forward." 
 
With eight goals as a freshman and a team-best 23 points as a sophomore, Roberson earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors in both seasons with the Chargers. He led Cypress in goals twice and helped his team to an 8-0-3 start to the 2019 season by recording seven goals and three assists during the first half of the campaign.
 
Roberson's sophomore numbers put him seventh in Cypress men's soccer history for points in a single season (23) and fifth in assists with five. But what may be more impressive is how his dynamic play led the Chargers to nearly unprecedented success as they earned a top-10 CCCAA ranking.
 
Cypress College went 10-5-6 during Roberson's last year with the team, recording its first 10-win season since 2005 and qualifying for CCCAA postseason play for the first time in over 20 years. 
 
But those performances certainly have not led the forward to rest on his laurels. Roberson is hungry to improve even more and pursue professional soccer aspirations as he turns his attention to the PacWest and NCAA DIvision II competition. And he is confident Biola's infrastructure, and his new program's coaching, will support him in that endeavor. 
 
"I chose Biola for many reasons, the main one being that I really clicked with Coach Stricklin; we have similar mindsets and that's huge for me," said Roberson. "I also thought the campus and its facilities are extremely nice and I'm anxious to grow as a Christian, an athlete, and as a man."
