LIVERMORE, Calif. --- Katie Ottman's a proven leader and successful swimmer who's eager to join the blossoming swim & dive program at Biola University.

Ottman announced her commitment to Head Coach Ryan Kauth's squad, coming from Livermore High School in Northern California.

"I believe that Biola will be a great environment for me and I can't wait to be part of a team where I can learn about and connect with others while strengthening my relationship with Christ," said Ottman.

While swimming four years for the Cowboys, Ottman qualified for the CIF meet each season and earned the team's outstanding swimmer award each of the last two seasons. She's been captain for her high school and club teams and earned a leadership award for her efforts.

Ottman plans to major in psychology while at Biola and comes in with a decorated academic history. She made honor roll or principal's honor roll every year during her high school career and has a GPA right around a 4.0.

Outside of swimming, she's been actively involved in the church by serving in girl's ministries at her church for 13 years and participating with her youth group.

Ottman swims freestyle and comes to Biola with personal-bests of :24.72 (50-free) and :54.76 (100-free). Catch her in the pool with fellow Eagles starting fall of 2020.
