Schadt Moves South To BU

Hailey Schadt commits to BIola Track & Field.

June 04, 2019

MEAD, Wash. --- Hailey Schadt helped Mt. Spokane High School to back-to-back top-4 regional finishes in cross country. She's announced her intention to continue her running career at Biola University beginning this fall.

Schadt ran a pair of varsity seasons in cross country and track & field for the Wildcats, earning a spot at the GSL championships and sectionals in 2017 and 2018.

"After going on the Biola Bound trip I couldn't see myself going anywhere else," said Schadt. "The trip made it evident that the classes, students and coaches at Biola will push me to become a better version of myself. I'm super excited to start training with the team!  Running with a team of driven, kind, hard working and Chris-centered individuals is going to be an experience unlike any other."

Schadt plans to major in kinesiology at Biola with a concentration in exercise science and health promotion. She hops to move on to a career as a strength and conditioning coach and also as a running/gymnastics coach.

During her high school career she made honor roll twice and maintained plenty of activities outside of her studies and running.

She had the opportunity to take a mission trip to Guatemala last summer, when "God showed me that love speaks through more than just words. Since realizing this I have made it a priority to show my love for people without waiting to find the 'perfect words'"

Schadt also enjoys hiking, photography, coaching gymnastics and playing board games with her family. She plans to run the 800m and 1,500m at Biola, coming in with a personal-best 800m time of 2:31.

Catch Schadt and the Eagles in action this coming fall in Biola's first year NCAA postseason eligible.
