FRAZIER PARK, Calif. --- Head Coach Sean Henning added to his distance group with the addition of Frazier Mountain High School's Aden Wiebers.

Wiebers was the four-time team MVP and earned the individual league championship in 2018. He comes to Biola with a 5k cross country personal-best of 17:35. Wiebers was the first from his school to qualify for the state cross country meet.

"I chose Biola because of how friendly and welcoming all of the students and faculty have been each time I've visited campus," said Wiebers. "It is obvious that faith is a huge part of campus life at Biola and I am so excited to be a part of that. I'm also excited to become a part of and to be pushed by Biola's ever-growing cross country and track teams and to be a part of the school's first year of NCAA competition."

Not only was he the standout runner on his team, but Wiebers was also a stellar student, graduating top-10 in his class and earning the "most inspirational student" award.

He also earned excellency awards for his proficiency in agriculture and physical education. Wiebers plans to major in kinesiology with hopes of a career in professional running and then a career as a track & field and cross country coach.

Outside of the classroom Wiebers was actively involved in the goings-on at Frazier Mountain High School. He was vice president of FFA and executive vice president of ASB and also helped out with the campus Bible club.

Catch Wieber and the rest of his cross country teammates beginning in September as they hunt for a PacWest Championship repeat and regional competition berth.
