GREENVILLE, SC --- Biola University landed two National Christian College Athletic Association Scholar Teams for the 2018-19 winter and spring athletic seasons. The Eagles' two honors is a part of just 31 total honors nationwide.

To earn NCCAA Scholar Team status teams needed to maintain a minimum 3.40 grade point average on a 4.00 scale. Biola Women's Tennis led the way with a team GPA of 3.56. Biola Women's Track & Field also earned scholar team distinction with a 3.45 team GPA.

Biola was one of seven NCCAA institutions to earn at least two NCCAA Scholar Team honors. Houghton College (N.Y.) led the way with six teams earning the award. Southwestern Christian University's women's basketball team had the highest team GPA overall (3.78).

Altogether Biola University had six scholar teams for the 2018-19 season with volleyball, women's cross country, women's soccer and men's soccer earning the distinction in the fall. Men's Golf had the highest team GPA with 3.66.

Seventy-eight total teams earned NCCAA Scholar Team honors this year.
