SHAFTER, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field adds to its 2019-20 incoming class with Julia Pitter from Shafter High School. Pitter competes in long jump, triple jump and plans to major in nursing when she gets to BU.

In high school Pitter set her school record in the triple jump with a jump right around 11.54m. Biola's top triple jump mark this past season was Hannah Hubbard's 11.77m. Her top long jump mark is 5.35m.

"From day one Biola seemed like the perfect fit for me," said Pitter. "I am so excited for all the new opportunities Biola brings to grow in knowledge and in faith, and as an athlete competing at the next level."

While at Shafter High School she also won the Jockey Club award. Pitter is a gifted student, having achieved all As each semester of her high school career.

She hopes for a career as a registered nurse once her time at Biola is complete. Outside of classes and competing she enjoys being outdoors and going camping.

Biola Track & Field completes its season this week at the NCCAA National Championships. Pitter will join the team next season as it sets its sights on its first year eligible for NCAA regional competition. More information about other incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
