KINGSBURG, Calif. --- Biola Swim & Dive adds Jonas Huckabay to its 2019-20 incoming class. Huckabay comes to BU from Kingsburg High School where he swam 200-freestyle as his primary event.
Huckabay is a three-time CIF Central Section event champion and helped lead his team to a trio of championships. In addition to excelling in the pool, he's also a remarkable student - finishing his high school career with a GPA higher than 4.0.
"I felt like Biola was a great match for me," said Huckabay. "Attending Biola will give me a unique opportunity to grow in my faith and develop many Christ-based relationships that are so rare in this world. As the team goes, I really felt a connection to the program and other swimmers as well as an atmosphere of a rising program with championship potential."
He plans to major in business at Biola and wishes to own his own business after graduation. He enjoys outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and hiking.
CollegeSwimming.com has Huckabay's top 200-yard freestyle time as 1:45.10. It lists his top 100-yard time at :47.98, with both top times coming in the last two months.
Catch Huckabay and the rest of Head Coach Ryan Kauth's swim team as they begin their year this coming October.
