LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second time in 2019 Paige Austin has earned PacWest Pitcher of the Week honors. Austin and the Eagles had just one series this past week, splitting with the Azusa Pacific Cougars.

The one win in the series was thanks to Austin's brilliance in the pitching circle. She threw eight innings to log a complete game shutout en route to Biola's 1-0 win in game one of Thursday's regular-season finale doubleheader.

The win brought her regular season to a close with an 11-6 record and minuscule 1.49 ERA. She pitched in 23 of Biola's 40 contests and had 117 and two-thirds innings pitched. Austin's seven shutout wins is the second-most in the PacWest Conference.

In this week's shutout, she had 10 strikeouts, walked just two batters and wiggled out of any and all trouble caused by five Azusa Pacific base hits.

Austin and the Eagles will continue their 2019 season with National Christian College Athletic Association postseason play. The Eagles travel to Botetourt, Va. May 15-17.
