Harper Makes The Grade

Katelyn Harper lands on CSCAA Scholar All-America list.

May 30, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has published its Scholar All-America Eligibility List.  Nearly 2,500 swimmers and divers are eligible for first-team honors by way of participating in the NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA National Championships. Another 1,915 are candidates for second-team honors based on their reaching an individual NCAA 'B' standard or participating in a NCAA diving qualifying event.

Katelyn Harper represents Biola Swim & Dive on this list, making a NCAA Division II 'B' cut in the 400-IM with a 4:30.04.

Harper was the only swimmer, male or female, to make a NCAA Division II cut this season, which is what allowed her to be eligible for Scholar All-America status.

The freshman is studying nursing at Biola and enters her sophomore year with a nearly perfect grade point average of just under 3.9 on a 4.0-point scale.

The entire women's team had a terrific year academically, finishing the fall semester tops in all of NCAA Division II in team GPA.
