May 23, 2019

SAN ANTONIO, Texas --- Biola Swim & Dive adds an accomplish freestyle and butterfly specialist to its men's roster with the addition of Christian Larsen. Larsen joins the Biola squad after competing for and captaining the San Antonio Christian School Lions.

Larsen served as team captain from 2016 through 2019 and led the men's team to the state championship victory in 2019. He had a solid individual performance at the state meet, also, finishing third in the 50-freestyle, second in the 100-freestyle and leading the 400-freestyle relay and 200-medley relay to state titles.

He made the TAPPS All-State swim team and all-region swim team each year from 2017-19 and qualified for the state meet during every one of his high school seasons.

"As soon as I stepped onto Biola's campus, I knew this was the place God wanted me to be," said Larsen. "I am very excited and proud to swim for Biola! I will improve my swimming skills and perform my best for the team."

Larsen is a tremendous athlete, also competing in triathlons when he's not been in the pool swimming for SACS. He finished third in his age group in the Kerrville Quarter Ironman Triathlon and in the top-100 among 700 in the St. Patrick's Day Triathlon in Dallas, Texas.

Even with all that he still found the time to give back within his community, working 250+ hours per year of community service to earn the Service Award each of his high school years.

"I have been a member of Community Bible Church for over 10 years now and volunteered with the Media/Tech Crew for seven years," said Larsen. "I have produced over 1000+ service hours working numerous jobs all for God's glory in the church."

He landed the highest honor roll status at his high school and attended a college prep school from kindergarten all the way through graduation.

He plans to major in cinema & media arts when he comes to Biola. Larsen brings tons of experience with him into that program, having served as director and producer for his high school newscast from 2016-19. He also received leadership and honor awards from the Washington Journalism & Media Conference and the Quill & Scroll Society.

Catch Larsen in Lansing Pool beginning this fall. More information about other incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
