LA HABRA, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field added a local runner to its 2019-20 incoming committed class in La Habra's Nathan Vallejo. Vallejo joins the BU roster after completing his high school career at Southlands Christian School.

Vallejo plans to study kinesiology with hopes of a career as an athletic trainer and possibly also a dietician. Prior to that, he'll have a few years to make his mark as part of Biola's outstanding distance program.

"I chose Biola because I experienced the great community of the school and also saw the Lord was really the center of everything there," said Vallejo. "After spending a visiting a few times and meeting the team I knew it was the school for me."

Vallejo is an experienced and decorated runner. He's been a CIF State Finalist, all-league first team swimmer and Runner of the Year. He also won the 3,200m race in the Miramonte League Championships.

He comes to BU with career-bests of 9:49 in the 3,200m and 15:39 in the 3-mile cross country race.
