Signing Announcement for Ashley Vitale

Vitale Ready To Dive In

Clovis Native joins Biola Swim & Dive as a school-record diver.

May 21, 2019

FRESNO, Calif. --- Ashley Vitale is set to add the diving to Biola Swimming & Diving. The Fresno-native and standout diver has committed to spend the next four years working with Head Coach Ryan Kauth and the Eagles to establish a top NCAA Division II diving program.

Vitale comes to Biola after spending four years at Clovis North High School, where she became the school-record holder in diving before graduating this spring.

She plans to study nursing during her time at Biola with career plans of being a nurse practitioner.

"I chose Biola University because it is a Christian College and the Lim Center for Science, Technology and Health is awesome," said Vitale. "I have always wanted to continue diving in college and I'm really excited about the opportunity to compete for the swim and dive team."

Vitale earned Most Valuable Diver honors and all-league honors in 2018. She was a scholar-athlete from 2016 through 2019 and also earned the character counts athlete award in 2017.

She finishes her time at CNHS with Academic Scholar Distinction honors and had time on the honor roll, high honor and principal's honor roll. She's also an AP Scholar with honor and part of the California Scholarship Federation.

Diving is a huge part of Vitale's life, as she's been a member of the Clovis Dive Club for over seven years (since 2012). She also enjoys hiking, shopping, watching movies and spending time with friends and family.

"The swim and dive class of 2019 is really big, and it's going to be a lot of fun.," said Vitale. "Coach Ryan Kauth is an amazing coach, and I can see myself really growing as an athlete and competing to my potential. Go Eagles!!"

Catch Vitale and the Eagles in the pool this October, when they open their 2019-20 season with Pacific Coast Swim & Dive Conference competition at the SPLASH! Aquatic Center. It's also the first season swimmers and divers are eligible to qualify for NCAA Division II postseason competition.
