POMONA, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field kept it close to home on Saturday as it competed at the nearby Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The Eagles recorded 10 personal-best times, including two runners hitting a pair of PRs.

Noah Strenn and Carissa Kalpakjian were the dual-PRs. Strenn hit top times of :22.60 in the 200m and :50.01 in the 400m to keep his strong season going. He was also a part of a Biola 4x100m relay that took fourth-place with a time of :43.33. He was partnered with Noah Styffe, Mathias Davis and Blake Kelly.

Kalpakjian's two PRs came in sprint events as she recorded a :12.36 in the 100m and a :25.52 in the 200m. She was one of two Eagles to place in the top-20 in the 100m. Paige LaBare was the other, placing 13th with a :12.15. It was a personal-best for LaBare in her bread-and-butter event. A great showing.

Strenn's 400m time was also an event where BU had two high finishers. He place 16th and Davis was 14th with a :49.84.

On the distance side, Mandy Reyes and Clara Haynes had solid performances in the 3,000m steeplechase. Reyes went 11:25.02 to finish seventh and Haynes came across the line 11th with a time of 11:39.20.

The men's top distance event was the 5k where Brady DeHaven and Jared Donnel nearly finished back-to-back. DeHaven placed 15th with a 15:33.02 and Donnel was 17th with a 15:38.70.

Mackenna Mason managed a top-10 finish in the women's 5k, placing ninth with her time of 17:49.58. It was her spring season best in the 5,000m.

Styffe matched that ninth-place finish with one of his own in the men's 100m. The first-year Eagle went :10.88 to set a new season-best.

The Eagles also got a pair of good performances in the hurdles. Corry Williams showed out in the 110m hurdles with a :15.27 and 11th-place finish. Heidi Sowers finished 14th in the women's event with a personal-best :15.21.

Biola's jumps contingent had a solid day, headlined by Rebeka Preston in the women's triple jump. Preston finished eighth with a mark of 11.35m, relatively close to her season-best of 11.46m. Williams had the highest individual men's finish in a jumps events with a 1.80m in the men's high jump - good enough for 13th.

Next week Biola heads up to Santa Barbara for a head-to-head dual at Westmont.
