LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Jennifer Morinishi continues to play a huge role for the Biola Softball team in her inaugural collegiate season. For the second consecutive week she posted a 0.00 ERA in the circle, and as a result she earned the PacWest Conference Freshman of the Week honors.

Morinishi helped Biola to a 4-0 overall record against Chaminade as the Eagles improved to 11-5 in PacWest play this season. She didn't play as much in the outfield as Head Coach Nikki Udria worked some other people into the lineup.

She did work her customary amount in the circle, which is where she really stood out this week. She had a 2-0 record in 9.1 innings of work and did not allow a single run to the Silverswords.

The award is Biola's fifth of the 2019 season and Morinishi's second Freshman of the Week honor. She's one of three freshman in the conference to have two Freshman of the Week awards this season.

For the season - Morinishi is 4-3 with a 2.88 ERA spread over 41.1 innings of work. She's got 31 strikeouts and has only walked 12 batters. She also has 20 hits this season, has scored 13 runs and driven in nine. Her five doubles is the second-best mark on the team.
