Biola Softball's Kayla Neff wins her second PacWest Player of the Week nod.

April 22, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second time this season the PacWest Conference has honored Kayla Neff as its Player of the Week. Neff led Biola to a very successful 7-1 record in the Eagles' NorCal road trip last week.

The junior catcher had a monstrous week, hitting .500 (15-for-30) and leading the Eagles with six extra-base hits. All six of those were doubles as the junior just about doubled her season total in that category.

"I'm extremely proud of Kayla for her leadership and the way she's been malleable this year, because it's tough to move from the fourth batter in the lineup to the first," said Head Coach Nikki Udria. "She has not let it affect her play. She's been continuing to produce. She's growing in her relationships with our pitchers and can get them out of their comfort zone. It's been a blessing to have her a part of our team."

Neff scored eight times and drove in five runs on the week. She helped Biola outscore its opponents 50-18. Her production on this week helped solidify her as the conference leader in batting average and on-base percentage. She's second in slugging.

The Eagles are third place in the PacWest and will host the first-place Concordia Irvine Eagles this Thursday at 4 p.m. It will also be Senior Night as the final regular season home event.
