LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It's the busiest day of the 2019 Biola Track & Field season as Head Coach Sean Henning's group spread out across three different meets in the Southern California area.

It was day two of the CSU Los Angeles Twilight Open and the Bryan Clay Invitational and the first day of competition at the Long Beach State Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.

It was the first year Biola's competed at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, which is typically reserved for NCAA Division I teams. The Eagles had some top finishes in Long Beach with Shannon Howell and Nic Nelson being the top NCAA Division II runner in the 800m and Anna Maumalanga finishing second among non-NCAA Division I runners in the discus.

Other notable finishes included Paige LaBare placing 16th in the 100m with a :12.62 and Shannon Howell's 2:18.36 in the 800m.

A small group went over to CSU Los Angeles and made its mark. Tiffany Pinkevich placed third in the 400m hurdles with a 1:18.24 and Blake Kelly went 11th in the men's 400m (:51.76).

Joshua Oglesby had another strong finish in the 1,500m, finishing 14 out of 25 with a 4:19.94. It was his first 1,500m run of the season.

Over at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Biola's decathlon guys finished the final half of their competition slate. Corry Williams' top finish of the day was fifth in the 110m hurdles with a :15.48. He'd finish 12th overall with 5,872 points.

Nathaniel Belden was the Eagles' top finisher in the decathlon, placing ninth with  6,035 total points. Belden had a fantastic day with a pair of second-place finishes. He was second in the pole vault, clearing 4.10m. He was also second in the 110m hurdles with a time of :15.31. It was the top mark ever in the pole vault from Belden.

Distance runners were also in action at the Bryan Clay Invitational, with runners in the 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m. Gabe Plendcio and Ryan St. Pierre ran in the same 5k heat and finished pretty close to each other. Plendcio ran a 15:18.49 to finish 23rd. St. Pierre finished 27th with his 15:32.36.

The teams finish off the week on Friday with competition continuing at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays. Both events feature live results.
