AZUSA, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field began its busy week Wednesday with competition on the first day of the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational and some throws activity at the CSU Los Angeles Twilight Open.

The decathletes and 10k runners opened the action at Bryan Clay with Nathaniel Belden and Corry Williams sitting back-to-back in the standings after the first five decathlon events. Belden had three top-10 finishes highlighted by a fifth-place in the 100m (:11.26) and sixth-place in the shot put (11.85m). Williams had just one top-10, but it was good enough to keep him close. He placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.84m. Belden is 10th and Williams 11th after one day's work.

Much later in the day the Eagles had four student-athletes in the 10,000m heats. Micaela Pulliam (38:05.73) and Mackenna Mason (38:25.16) finished 18th and 20th in their heat of the 10k. It was Mason's first-ever 10k for Biola Track.

Angel Escobar (31:52.06) and Jared Donnel (32:18.69) finished 13th and 17th in their heat of the men's 10,000m.

No results have been made available yet for the first day of throws at the CSULA Twilight Open where Kelly Kobayashi threw the discus and Kylia Van Horn threw the hammer.

The team is spread out once again on Thursday with member spread between Bryan Clay, CSULA, Mt. SAC Relays and Long Beach State.
