SAN FRANCISCO --- Biola Track & Field stuck around for one more day of competition at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco, competing in a limited slate of events on a beautiful Saturday by the bay.

The Eagles had two top-10 finishes in the women's long jump with Sarah Rossiter placing seventh with a collegiate-best leap of 5.26m. Hannah Hubbard was the other top finisher, placing ninth with a mark of 5.21m.

Nathaniel Belden and J'Vaughan Singleton finished back-to-back on the men's side with 12th and 13th-place finishes, respectively. Belden went 6.39m and Singleton 6.33m.

On the track side - Nic Nelson, Luke Sutherland and Aditya Lal all finished within four places of one another and within 16-hundredths of a second of each other with times between 1:57.09 and 1:57.25 in the 800m.

Shelby Rogers led the women's effort in the 800m with a 49th-place finish and time of 2:18.43. It was a new season-best in the event for Rogers and a strong showing in the field of 105 runners.

"In the 800's on Saturday, Nic Nelson ran a lifetime best and Shelby Rogers, Shannon Howell, Kaitlyn Natividad, and Aditya Lal all ran seasonal or lifetime bests," said Head Coach Sean Henning.

Biola returns to the local area next week for the Pomona Pitzer Invitational on Saturday April 6.
