March 21, 2019

THE WOODLANDS, Texas --- Biola Track & Field has added a pair of tremendous athletes and fits for the University in Grace Ann and Bethany Hopkins. The twins come to Biola after accomplished high school careers at Legacy Prep Christian Academy in their hometown - The Woodlands, Texas.

Both young ladies earned all-state first team honors while competing for the Lions. They are both sprinters competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m and relays.

In addition to reaching the pinnacle of athletic accomplishment, both were awarded academic all-state nods. They both plan to major in Christian ministries upon arrival to Biola.

"I am beyond blessed for the opportunity to run in college," said Grace Ann. "God chose Biola for me and I am ecstatic to see what He will do in and through me at this special place!"

Bethany will come into Biola with PRs of :12.90 in the 100m, :27.14 in the 200m and 1:01.9 in the 400m. Grace Ann enters with PRs of 13.44 in the 100m, :26.04 in the 200m and :59.73 in the 400m.

"I chose Biola because the Lord so beautifully lead me here," said Bethany. "I have witnessed his faithfulness during this journey and I am extremely grateful and excited for the chance to run college track and give God the glory in all that I do. I can't wait to be a part of Biola's genuine atmosphere of love and community and the Biola track family!"

Outside of track and their studies, the Hopkins twins are both heavily involved in their church communities, including music ministries, camp and outdoor adventures.

Catch them running at Biola for Head Coach Sean Henning beginning this coming fall.
