No. 20 Point Loma earns a 4-0 victory at home on Saturday against Biola Women’s Tennis.

March 16, 2019

Box Score SAN DIEGO --- After a hard, and successful week of work at the Biola Tennis Center over the previous five days, the Eagles headed to San Diego on Saturday to matchup with a ranked team in No. 20 Point Loma.

Head Coach David Goodman shook up his normal lineup to prepare for the three more matches next week, holding Esther Lee and Tinisee Kandakai out of singles to allow the entire roster to play on Saturday.

Kandakai teamed up with Madison Swaney at No. 2 doubles as Swaney progresses her way back into Biola's normal rotation. The combo dropped the match by a score of 6-1 as the Sea Lions took all three doubles fixtures to go up 1-0 in the match.

Following the lineup changes, Anna Hartmann and Sara Morgan returned to play singles for the Eagles while Ines Diaz stepped into the No. 1 spot in Esther Lee's absence.

While the Sea Lions earned three quick straight-set victories to earn the clinch, both Diaz and Hartmann looked to be on the comeback trail in the second set before they were called off the court. Hartmann's second set was stopped at 3-1 to keep her singles record this season at 2-0. Diaz was down just 3-2 at the clinch and remains 2-2 in singles this year.

The Eagles will return to the Biola Tennis Center on Monday to defend their 5-2 home record against Colorado Mesa. Doubles play is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
