Ready. Set. Go!

Biola Track & Field begins its season with a fun abbreviated meet Saturday.

February 16, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After what seems like forever Biola Track & Field is set to begin its 2019 season on Saturday as it hosts the University of La Verne for a small dual meet to get the year going.

The Eagles and Leopards will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Al Barbour Field with some jumps events. The running begins and noon and Dave Hogan's throws group will be up at the Biola Throws facility from noon on.

It's the first time Biola's hosted ULV for a head-to-head dual. The last few years the team hosted former Golden State Athletic Conference competition against Vanguard or Westmont.

The two teams are set to compete in nine running events, including the always entertaining elimination mile. Throws will include hammer throw, shot put and discus and the jumps will have everything going, including pole vault.

The competition will be going on at the track between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., so if you can please plan to make it out to support.

It will be fun to see how the year progresses with Head Coach Sean Henning's deep group of talented student-athletes and new assistants Robert Matthew and Mickey Miela.

Check back here after the meet for the full results and recap.
