Meghan Tolman Signed 2020

Four-Time MVP Dives Into Biola Swim

Biola Adds Meghan Tolman to incoming swim & dive commitment class.

December 04, 2019

MANTECA, Calif. --- Meghan Tolman spent her last four years leading the Sierra High School swim team to new heights. Tolman won the team MVP award all four years of her career with the Timberwolves and was a three-time team captain.

Beginning in 2020-21 she'll be bringing her talents to Lansing Pool and joining Head Coach Ryan Kauth's team on the rise.

"I am thrilled to be a part of Biola Athletics because I noticed at the end of every practice they prayed, and I believe that our athletics should be God-centered, and that's exactly what Biola is," said Tolman. "I also love to see the unity within the team and how well they all got along."

Tolman not only stood out on her team, but she also was a standout in the local area. She won district swimmer of the year in 2019 and was a qualifier for the state championships. She's made sectionals each year from 2017 on and finished third overall in the 100-breaststroke at sectionals in 2019.

Outside of swimming Tolman has been actively involved in AWANA ministries, where she's helped young kids (pre-K - 6th grade) grow in their relationship with Christ.

Her older brother, David, also chose to attend Biola and is currently a sophomore studying music/vocal performance.

Tolman currently has a personal-best in the 100-breaststroke of 1:04.68, which she swam at the sectionals meet this past year. Biola's school record in the 100-breaststroke is 1:04.29, set by Lisa Tixier in 2017.

She plans to major in kinisiology when she arrives at Biola and hopes for a career in physical therapy. Her future team competes this weekend in their most important meet of the fall season, the Collegiate Winter Invite hosted by La Verne.
