Jack Kilgallon Freshman of the Week Announcement

Kilgallon Top Freshman Performer

Jack Kilgallon was named the final PacWest Men’s Soccer Freshman of the Week after collecting three points in two Biola wins.

November 18, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The PacWest Conference Office gave forward Jack Kilgallon the final Men's Soccer Freshman of the Week honor on Monday after the Wheaton, Illinois-native helped the Biola Eagles to wins over Point Loma and Fresno Pacific.

This is the first weekly conference award for Kilgallon and the fourth Freshman of the Week honor for Biola Men's Soccer. Fellow Wheaton Academy-alumni JD Gunn won Freshman of the Week on September 9 and October 21 while Alex Lugo picked up the award on October 14.

Kilgallon recorded a goal and an assist across Biola's two victories last week, helping the Eagles end the year on a winning streak and finish the regular season in the top half of the conference table. After Biola initially fell behind 2-0 to Point Loma, Kilgallon scored the equalizing goal in the 83rd minute to set the stage for an Alejandro Pelayo golden goal in overtime.

Then Kilgallon chipped in an assist on Lugo's game-winner at Fresno Pacific to give Biola its first win in Fresno since 2011. Kilgallon ended the year with the most points among freshmen on the squad with seven (two goals and three assists).

Biola Men's Soccer finished at or above .500 for the ninth-straight season with its record of 8-7-3, 6-3-2 PacWest. The Eagles are one of three PacWest teams to finish the regular season on winning streak and also ended the year with three-straight wins at Al Barbour Field.

BU also finished seven points ahead of seventh-place Fresno Pacific and just two points behind third-place Point Loma, who the Eagles just beat last Wednesday. In fact, four of Biola's win this season came against four of the five teams that finished ahead of them in the PacWest standings.
