LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the third time this season junior libero Sami Hover has been named PacWest Defender of the Week.

Hover's been racking up quite the statistics from her libero position this year. Her third honor is Biola's fifth weekly award from the PacWest Conference this year. 

"Sami has been huge for us this year," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She's so consistent and does great things night in and night out. She's a stud and deserves this award for what she does for our team."

Taking on Fresno Pacific University at home on Friday, Hover recorded 20 digs to lead her team to a sweep of the Sunbirds. 

In a Cornerstone Cup matchup the next day, Hover shone again with an outstanding 30 digs against the Cougars in a four-set loss. 

This was the third time in her career that Hover eclipsed the 30 dig mark, and amazingly the second in the last three matches. 

Hover is peaking at the right time for this Eagles team. She will hope to lead Biola to another successful week as Biola hosts all three Hawaii schools this week, beginning Monday night against Hawaii Hilo.
