LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The PacWest Conference Office named junior Marcel Manalo Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday after Manalo showed great improvement over the final two rounds of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Manalo (80-76-69) tied teammate Sami Penor (71-80-74) for the best 54-hole score among PacWest participants at the tournament. Manalo's -1 (69) was the best round of any woman in the 55-player field on Wednesday, set a new career low for a single round and set a new Biola season best for an individual single round. 

Manalo finished the tournament at +15 and recorded six birdies over three rounds. 

This is the first weekly honor for Biola Women's Golf since Penor earned the award in September 2018. 

The Dennis Rose Intercollegiate was the final tournament of the calendar year for Biola Women's Golf. After completing the fall semester, the Eagles will play four tournaments in the leadup to the PacWest Championship. The first tournament they'll play in the Spring is the PLNU Reach, which starts on February 3.
