LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second week in a row freshman middle blocker Abigail Copeland has been selected by the PacWest Conference for a weekly award. Following up last week's Defender of the Week nod, Copeland was awarded Freshman of the Week for her showing during Biola's Hawaiian road trip.

Copeland set a new PacWest single-match high with 11 blocks in Biola's win over Hawaii Pacific and had strong outings each night as Biola went 1-2 against three of the top-4 teams in the conference.

For the week she tallied 14 kills and 16 blocks. She hit .235 and extended her lead in the conference with a season mark of 1.26 blocks-per-set. She now ranks 15th in all of NCAA Division II in that category.

Copeland and Biola return home this week for matches against Academy of Art on Friday (6 p.m.) and Holy Names on Saturday (3 p.m.).
