Corrected signing announcement for Chad Sinclair

Second Strikers Alum Joins Midfielder

Midfielder Chad Sinclair commits to Biola Men’s Soccer from the same club team that developed Gio Passarelli.

January 08, 2019

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. --- Coming off a strong effort during the 2017-18 season that earned him First Team All-League honors at Servite High School, Chad Sinclair continued to impress with his Strikers FC club team during the fall recruiting period and earned a signing opportunity with Head Coach Todd Elkins' Men's Soccer team.

Sinclair's Strikers FC North McManus team also produced Eagles' midfielder Gio Passarelli in high school before Passarelli played in 18 matches during his freshman year at Biola. And at the 2018 Surf Cup, Sinclair helped his club go 2-1 over three days of play while posting a scoring margin of six goals to three.

At Servite High, Sinclair has been part of a powerhouse program that has won at least 14 matches and taken Trinity League Championships each of the first three years Sinclair has attended the school. Last year, Sinclair earned First Team All-League recognition after scoring five goals, three of which were game-winners, and chipping in two assists during a season that saw the Friars go 18-3-2 to quality for CIF Southern Section playoffs.

Servite is off to another good start this year at 6-2-5 at time of writing, with Sinclair scoring four goals and two assists over those matches.
Academically, Sinclair has been named to the Principal's Honor Roll and Honor Roll at Servite and plans to major in business management at Biola. He expressed his gratitude for the people that helped him get in a position to play collegiate soccer and his excitement for the seasons to come at Biola:

"I attribute my success to my parents' and coaches' support. And I would like to especially thank all of those who helped me achieve this opportunity," said Sinclair. "Coach Elkins has also been extremely helpful in the recruitment process and I can't wait to be able to play and travel with the team."

Sinclair will join the Biola Eagles for their first season of NCAA postseason eligibility in 2019. More information about other incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
