Academy of Art will play its first home match of the season on Thursday and is hoping to build on a dramatic 2-2 draw with Dominican in its last match. The Urban Knights erased a two-goal deficit with scores in the 82nd and 86th minute to force the match into overtime, marking the first time this season that they have scored multiple goals in a match. ARTU has a -7 goal differential in six matches but has seen five players score this season. The Urban Knights have trailed going into the halftime break in four of their six matches this season and are 0-3-1 in those matches, so the Eagles would do well to get one or two on the board early.

Academy of Art does not charge admission to matches at Paul Goode Field, but parking in the adjacent lot costs $1.80 per hour and is charged in three-hour increments. Soda, water and candy will be sold as concessions on site and fans attending the match will find the parking lot by driving to the very end of Portola St.

Notre Dame De Namur has run into a bit of a drought offensively after opening the season with a 4-0 shutout victory over Cal State East Bay on Aug. 30. The Argos has been unable to score multiple goals in the five matches since, all losses, and have trailed at halftime in four of those matches. NDNU last played on Sept. 15, a 2-1 loss in overtime to Cal Poly Pomona, and face a tough test on Thursday in Point before facing Biola on Saturday. These two teams do share one common opponent this season, Cal State San Bernardino, who the Eagles shutout 1-0 on Sept. 8. The Coyotes have since rebounded, defeating the Argos 4-1 at home on Sept. 13 and are now 2-0 in CCAA play after posting two shutouts. Naia Graham has led the Argos offense as he was expected to, having scored four goals this season for NDNU. But he hasn't gotten much help from his teammates on offense as only two other Argos have found the back of the net this year.

ABOUT LAST WEEK:
The Eagles took a very forward-thinking approach going into its two matches last week and they certainly aren't going to look back now and worry over two non-conference losses that may not matter in the grand scheme of the season. The Eagles spread some rest throughout the roster in Thursday's loss to Point Loma and simply ran into a striker on a roll in Concordia's Connor Gordon on Saturday, so there isn't much to pick apart from the losses except finding a way for the defense to prevent the opponent from taking more than a one-goal lead. And on the offensive end of the ball, forward Hunter Finnegan became the fourth Eagle to score the first goal of his Biola career this season when he scored in the 86th minute at Concordia. Finnegan's goal gives the Eagles six individual goal scorers already this year, it just all comes down to finding the right man at the right time.

HOME SWEET HOME:
The Eagles concluded their four-game homestand to conclude non-conference play with  2-1-1 record at home, giving the indication that Biola will upholds its long-standing history of success at Al Barbour Field. The Eagles have not had a losing record at home since 2001 and rattled off five wins in a six-match stretch a home in 2017 to guarantee a .500 record.

CONFERENCE TICKER:
Azusa Pacific has jumped out of the gate in PacWest play to collect a quick six points in its first two matches. The Cougars scored eight times in matches against Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific and will face a Hawaii Hilo team next that has lost four in a row after opening the season with a 1-0 shutout over ranked Western Washington. Fresno Pacific has also looked good in the early going of PacWest play, opening the conference slate with a victory over ARTU before getting a quality win on the road over Point Loma this past Saturday, 3-2. The Sunbirds have a 19-to-9 goal differential in six matches this season and have goals from 11 individual players as they prepare to face Dominican on Saturday. PacWest Preseason Player of the Year Anthony Velarde already has seven assists to go along with four strikes of his own.
