For the second time in as many seasons, Head Coach Todd Elkins' team begins it schedule with a matchup against a perennial CCAA power in UC San Diego on Thursday Aug. 30. The Eagles tied the Tritons in their first match as an NCAA DII program when UC San Diego was ranked as the No. 4 team in the division. Preseason rankings have not been released from the CCAA as of this writing, but the Tritons figure to be near the top of the table after just missing out on an NCAA Championship Berth with a 10-2-5 overall record and a 7-1-3 mark in conference. The Tritons return three all-conference players from a year ago while Biola boasts headline players like Kousei Mattox, who was an All-PacWest selection in 2017 and the lone Eagle on the Preseason All-PacWest team released last week. Admission at the Triton Soccer Field is free for traveling fans, but weekday parking fees at UC San Diego will apply. Fans can also purchase a live stream of the match at UCSDtritons.tv for $5.99

BIOLA at CSU SAN MARCOS (0-0): Saturday Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. \\ Live Stats
CSU San Marcos took a positive step to begin their 2017 season when they defeated the Eagles at Al Barbour Field in early September. But the Cougars will do as best they can to move on from the rest of their 2017 results with early success this year. CSUSM lost its final 11 matches of the 2017 schedule and went winless in conference play while the Eagles finished with a winning PacWest mark at 7-5-1. The Cougars will face the Concordia Eagles on Thursday Aug. 30 so the common opponent will be a good litmus test for Biola to appraise how it will stack up against a CUI side it will face twice in 2018. The first meeting with Concordia, on Sept. 22, will be the final non-conference road match of the Eagles' schedule. The Eagles will play four-straight home matches in the three week stretch leading up to that trip to Irvine. Admission into The Cage soccer complex is $5 and parking is free during CSUSM athletic events in Lot Z, which is directly adjacent to the soccer field.
