Signing Announcement for Andrew Reese

Reese Takes Next Step

Andrew Reese joins Biola Men's Soccer after anchoring the defense for Las Lomas High School

July 06, 2018

WALNUT CREEK,Calif. --- Andrew Reese's hard work and dedication to the game he love officially paid off this summer with the opportunity to play on Head Coach Todd Elkins' team for the next four years as a midfielder. And the thrill that comes with finding a home on a collegiate soccer team certainly isn't lost on the Las Lomas High School graduate.

"I am so grateful to receive the opportunity to play soccer at Biola," said Reese. "It felt like home when I made my first visit to campus and I was welcomed by everyone there."

Reese will make his way to La Mirada from the San Francisco East Bay area, where he helped the Las Lomas Knights to 27 wins over the last two seasons and a 16-5-3 mark his senior year. That included a trip to the CIF North Coast Section Playoffs, where Reese and Knights dominated a 5-1 first-round win before coming up just short in the quarterfinals. The Knights held within a goal of their opponents for the entire second half and scored an equalizer in stoppage time but suffered a reversal in the second golden-goal period.

Reese helped lead the Knights' defensive stand in that quarterfinal match and is a three-time defensive MVP for the Las Lomas boys soccer team. He earned second team All-Diablo Atlhetic League recognition this season, an impressive feat considering three teams in Reese's division won at least 16 matches in 2017-18, and also collected other first-team and honorable mention recognitions.

Reese will major in computer science at Biola and aspires to move into a career with Autodesk, a company that builds software manufacturing, architecture and entertainment industries, among others.

He will join his new teammates in August as the Eagles prepare for their second season of PacWest play. More information about all of Biola's incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
