NIPOMO, Calif. --- With the conclusion of Selina Sherlin's career, Biola Softball has a big hole on the third base side of the diamond. Sicili Brittingham will hope to fill that hole well in one way or another as the corner infielder from Righetti High School commits to Biola.

"Biola was the right fit for me," said Brittingham. "It wasn't super big and the education is phenomenal, as well as the relationship with the Lord, which I am excited about strengthening."

The incoming freshman played four varsity seasons for the Warriors and helped lead her team to a Pac-12 conference title and a year where they were co-champions.

She was well connected throughout her high school experience, playing softball, earning a slew of academic awards and also dancing with a Tahitian dance group called Nonosina, based in Buena Park, Calif.

Brittingham made the honor roll and is a Henry Mayo scholarship recipient. She also is an Early Academic Outreach Program student, Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation student and a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution award.

She plans to study communication sciences and disorders (speech pathology) at Biola and become a speech pathologist to help others after her education is complete.

Catch Sicili and the rest of her teammates in action once the 2019 Biola Softball season begins in February. This year will mark the 26th season of softball at Biola.
