Signing Announcement for Mark Greenberg

Men’s Soccer Welcomes Greenberg

Mark Greenberg’s commitment to Biola Men’s Soccer keeps him close to home.

June 04, 2018

YORBA LINDA, Calif. --- With the signing of Mark Greenberg from Esperanza High School, the Biola Eagles filled their wishlist of adding multiple keepers to the roster with this year's recruiting class.

Greenberg spent three years on the Aztecs' varsity squad and helped Esperanza improves its record by six wins from his junior to senior seasons. The Aztecs went 7-3-3 at home in the 2017-18 season and allowed one goal or less to their opponents in 15 of their 22 matches.

The Yorba Linda, California native also played a year of varsity lacrosse at Esperanza and was recognized with multiple academic honors for carrying a weighted GPA that was at 4.0 or higher during his entire time at high school.

And as Greenberg considered where he would like to take his academics next, finding a place that would embrace and help develop his Christian faith became a priority for him.

"I strongly believe that Biola is committed to growing student into authentic Christ followers who can incorporate their faith into whatever career they choose to pursue," said Greenberg. "Biola struck a note in my heart. And the guys on the men's soccer team went out of their way to make me feel welcomed as soon as I came in contact with them."

Greenberg will major in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science when he enrolls in classes at Biola. After graduation, Greenberg would like to enter ministry as a pastor or become a personal trainer or nutritionist.

He will join his new teammates in August as the Eagles prepare for their second season of PacWest play. More information about all of Biola's incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
