LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Head Coach Sean Henning has announced the 2018 competition schedule for Biola Cross Country, and those familiar with the program will see a lot of recognizable events.

The 2018 season begins just as the 2016 and 2017 campaigns did, with the Eagles' home meet at Ted Craig Regional Park in Fullerton, California. Biola hosts its Biola Inivitational on Saturday Sept. 10, with an 8:00 a.m. men's 8k followed by an 8:45 a.m. women's 5k. Last season the Eagles had 17 men's teams and 19 women's teams in attendance to get their legs back under them and launch the new season.

Following the home meet Biola has four road meets in its regular season, including two separate trips to Northern California - one to San Francisco State on Sept. 21 and another to Santa Clara on Oct. 13. The Santa Clara meet has a little extra intrigue because the field features a lot of top NCAA Division I competition.

All of the regular season meets are in place to have the team primed and ready for more strong showings at the PacWest Conference Championship meet on Friday Nov. 2. This will be Biola's second appearance at the conference championship and the final time they will compete without being eligible for NCAA Division II regional competition afterward. In 2017 Biola had both teams finish third at the conference championships and brought home six All-PacWest individual honors. Those were Biola's first-ever PacWest postseason awards. 

California Baptist won both the men and women's titles, but the Lancers will not be in the conference in 2018 leaving the door open for a new champion. Biola, Azusa Pacific and Academy of Art figure to be the favorites on both sides. This year's PacWest Championships are hosted by Fresno Pacific at Woodward Park in Fresno, California.

The final meet of the season is the National Christian College Athletic Association Championships, hosted by College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. The Eagles must finish top-5 at the PacWest Championships to earn a spot at the NCCAA meet. Both teams did so in 2017, with the men's side going on to win the NCCAA title paced by individual national champion, Gabe Plendcio. The women's team finished as runner-up in 2017 and will be looking to move up that one all-important spot in 2018.
