TORRANCE, Calif. --- Megan Neumann captained her high school cross country and track & field teams for two years and brings that leadership experience and a bunch of athletic ability with her to Biola as she joins Head Coach Sean Henning's programs at BU.

Neumann was the MVP of the Torrance High School cross country team all four of her varsity seasons and also earned all-league honors during all of those seasons. She was just as good when track season rolled around, earning a league championship in both the 1,600m and 3,200m races.

She twice earned all-area honors for her efforts in cross country and did it all while maintaining a GPA above 4.0 for her high school career. Neumann also played varsity soccer for three of her four high school years.

Neumann led the Tartans to a pair of cross country league championships (2014, 17) and a track championship in 2017.

"I chose Biola because of the great environment of students and faculty who share the same beliefs and work to glorify God," said Neumann. "It is an encouraging and inspiring atmosphere filled with loving people."

Aside from running, Neumann enjoys nature, cooking and animals. She plans to major in biological sciences when she gets to Biola, with hopes of a career as a research biologist.
