PEORIA, Ariz. --- Head Coach Ryan Kauth continues to build a competitive roster for the 2018-19 Biola Swim & Dive season with the addition of standout freestyler, Westin Dawe.

"I am incredibly thankful and excited for the opportunity to compete for and study at Biola. Go Eagles," said Dawe.

Dawe won the league title in the 100-freestyle three times during his high school career at Sunrise Mountain high school and was the league runner-up in the 200-freestyle three times. He was on varsity all four years of his career and amazingly captained the team four times. 

During his four years with the Mustangs he qualified for the state meet three times in individual events and three times as a member of relay teams. His team never finished worse than second in league during his career, twice winning the league title.

He will complete his high school career in the top five percent of his class with a 4.0 grade point average. Dawe plans to study business administration at Biola and use his education for a career in business or full-time ministry.

"I chose Biola University because it is the ideal fit for me spiritually, academically and athletically," said Dawe. "Campus is beautiful and felt like home during my visit. Everyone on the team is friendly and inviting, and made me feel very welcome. They have shown a lot of improvement under Coach Kauth this season and I am looking forward to improving under his coaching."

Dawe's brother, Austin, is also a collegiate student-athlete, playing basketball at Central Arizona College.
