LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Lisa Tixier, a recent recipient of the Dr. Dave Holmquist Career Achievement Award, added even more to her career resume on Tuesday as she was named the 2017-18 Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference Female Swimmer of the Year. 

"Lisa's swimming abilities stem from much more than natural talent," said Head Coach Ryan Kauth. "Although she is a very gifted athlete in the water, her work ethic this year set an example for every single one of her teammates."

The senior standout had an excellent year all around, but was especially excellent at this year's PCSC Championship meet. She won the 50-freestyle (:22.98), won the 100-freestyle (:50.03) and won the 100-butterfly (:53.97) while also setting or being a part of seven new school records. 

Tixier is the only swimmer in school history to have won any PCSC individual championships, let alone three in one year. She also helped Biola's relay teams to one fourth place and three fifth-place finishes in the events she was involved in.

As a result, the conference coaches awarded her Biola first PCSC Female Swimmer of the Year honors. 

"Lisa's accomplishments, especially this PCSC Swimmer of the Year Award, were 100 percent earned through relentless effort, day-in and day-out," said Kauth. "I couldn't be more proud of everything Lisa has done for this team, and the future of the program."

Tixier's older sister, Christine, was inducted into the Biola Athletics Hall of Fame two years ago, and with 20 All-American swims, five PCSC championships, four NAIA Championships, this prestigious annual award and 11 school records under her belt, it's no doubt that's where this Tixier is headed next.
