TURLOCK, Calif. --- Biola Men's Golf has a shot at turning in one of its best three-round team scores of the season after 36 holes at the Turlock Golf & Country Club for Hanny Stanislaus Invitational.

For the first time this season, the Eagles turned in two sub-310 rounds on a single day of competition and find themselves in the middle of the second pack of the teams in a tournament that includes five ranked NCAA Division II teams. After play concluded on Monday, Biola is just two strokes behind No. 39-ranked Cal State San Marcos and three back of the top-10.

The next PacWest team the Eagles could catch on Tuesday is Academy of Art, who concluded Monday with a team score of 608 and wrapped things up with a second-round mark that was just one shot better than the Eagles score of 305.

Parker Buck led the Eagles' individual scores and stayed in range of the top-25 with a total of 150 through 36 holes. Buck's result is tied for his second-best two round score of the season and gives him a shot of finishing in the top-25 for the fifth-straight tournament after his +6 score placed him in 28th position.He also walked off the course, carding two pars and two birdies on his last four holes of the day.

Austin Bishop matched Buck's three birdies in the second round and collected six in total to wrap up the day at 152. The next-highest birdie total came from senior Samuel Shih, who made his return to competition by sinking five birdies on the way to his first-day result of +12.

"Samuel Shih and Kyle McAbee did well to post 77's," said Head Coach Max Allen. "They both had lackluster starts: Sam was eight-over through 11 holes but birdied three of his last five. Kyle was four-over through three holes and settled down to go one-over the rest of the way. They embodied the idea of competing without your best stuff. They found a way to limit damage, took some chances when they needed to and there is not a whole lot of separation when we look at the leaderboard. Tomorrow we will get in the right set of mind and fire a good round to get up the leaderboard." 

The Eagles will wrap up the tournament with a single round on Tuesday.
