Reeves Ready For Next Level

Local all-league left back commits to Biola Men’s Soccer.

April 17, 2018

WEST COVINA, Calif. --- Head Coach Todd Elkins has begun the process of replenishing his back line by adding a smart left back from West Covina in Henry Reeves.

The Bonita High School product is a two-time All-Palomeras League player who has developed a long list of academic and leadership honors. On the field, Reeves was one of two Bonita Bearcats to appear on the All-Palomeras first-team this season. But off the field, Reeves earned two scholar-athlete recognitions in 2016 and 2017 and was a leading contributor to The Pawse review show produced by Bonita video production students.

Reeves intends to major in biology when he starts classes this coming September and hopes his time at Biola will prepare him to be a physician's assistant. He figures to bring the academic prowess and leadership potential necessary for that degree program, as Reeves was a member of the California Scholarship Federation throughout high school and was nominated for the High O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference.

"I chose Biola because I loved the vibe the first time I visited the campus," said Reeves. "I really enjoyed playing with the team and interacting with the coaches."

The West Covina, California native has primarily been a left back for the Bearcats and also brings eight years of experience in club soccer to Biola. He was frosh captain and MVP in 2015 and chosen as Bonita's most improved player in 2016.

Reeves will arrive to campus with the rest of his teammates in August to begin preparations for the 2018 season.  To view the rest of this year's commitments to Biola Athletics, click here.
