Eagles Have Top-Five Round

Biola concludes the Desert Intercollegiate with the fifth-best third-round score in the twenty-team field.

INDIO, Calif. --- The high winds at the Terra Lago Golf Club kicked up a bit on Tuesday and continued to raise scores across the board in the 110-player field.


But among the 20 teams at the tournament, the Biola Eagles fared among the best in the challenging conditions. Head Coach Max Allen's team posted a team score of 330 in the third and final round, fifth-best among all teams present, to climb up to 13th place.

After vaulting 41 spots on the player leaderboard with a score of 76 in round two, Parker Buck got all the way up to 24th place at the end of play Tuesday with a three-round total of 241. Buck was +1 through his first nine holes in the third round and birdie two times during his final five holes to card a 79.

The junior has now placed in the top-25 in each of the last five tournaments he has played in and has posted 11 rounds at 79 strokes or under during that span.

Kyle McAbee was the Eagles' second-best finisher and was just two strokes behind Buck on Tuesday. McAbee was even or better on nine holes and birdied 18 to gets his best score of the tournament. Austin Bishop also found his most success in his concluding play-through with an 81 on a tournament that started tough and stayed tough for the Eagles' No. 1.

Biola finished with an overall score of 991, just two strokes behind 11th place and 14 outside the top-10.

The Eagles will return to competition next Monday when they travel to Turlock, California for the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational.
