PALM DESERT, Calif. --- Biola Women's Golf had a whole lot of consistent performances during the 2018 Augustana Spring Fling Tournament with three of the team's top-5 scorers ending with the same score at the conclusion of the 36 holes. The Eagles carded two team rounds in the 320s to finish sixth overall in the 12-team field after two days at The Classic Club.

Biola dropped one place in the standings after the first day, but it remained as the top PacWest Conference institution in the field. BU shot a team score of 328 during the final day, which was three strokes higher than its opening round tally of 325. The combined score of 653 (+77) was four strokes behind the tournament host, Augustana, and four strokes ahead of the seventh place team, Lindenwood.

Jules Loibl ended the tournament as the Eagles' top scorer. She followed-up a round one 78 with a day two 80 to tie for 12th place at 14-over for the tournament. Biola's next three best finishers all shot 165s (+21) to finish tied for 39th. 

Tori Roeske and Sophia Karnazes added one stroke to their round one 82s, while Marcel Manalo dropped a stroke from her first round of 83 to end up in the three-way tie with one another. 

Alexis Gopfert also dropped strokes on the final day, cutting her 89 to an 86 to finish up as the Eagles' fifth scorer. She was alone in 49th in the field of 72 individuals. 

Biola's golfers combined for five birdies on day two of the competition, led by a pair from Loibl. Loibl finished third in the tournament field by posting five birdies in the past two days.

Mary Karnazes was the most improved golfer on the second day of competition. She was competing in the tournament as an individual and went from a round one 96 to a second round 86.

The Eagles continue their spring season with one more regular season tournament at the end of March. They will play in UC Santa Cruz's Women's Invite at Pacific Grove Golf Links on March 30-31.
