AZUSA, Calif. --- Biola Softball suffered its second PacWest Conference sweep of the season on Friday as the Eagles lost game two of its doubleheader at Azusa Pacific, 4-0.

Paula Damas turned in another strong start, allowing just four hits and three runs in three innings, but the Eagles' offense just could not find its rhythm against the Azusa Pacific staff to score some runs in support.

The Eagles were held to just two hits in the game. They drew five walks and a hit-by-pitch to threaten in a few innings, but could not find the gaps in the defense to drive anyone home.

Azusa scored all four of their runs in innings two through four to get the job done and lift them to their eighth win of the season and improve their conference record to 4-8. The two losses come as a shock to Biola, who coming into the day was looking at the possibility of retaking first-place in the conference in wins and dreaming of a possible conference title.

The upset sweep should be a good motivator for the Eagles to turn things around next week. Biola resumes its non-conference schedule next week with a Tuesday road doubleheader at CSU San Marcos. The Eagles' next conference games are March 31 at Dixie State (21-1, 11-1 PacWest).
