LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Just three days after opening its season against San Diego Christian in El Cajon, the Biola Eagles jumped right into their conference schedule with a matchup against Cal State LA at home.

The Eagles had their difficulties despite playing in a familiar environment, losing 9-0 to the Golden Eagles to fall to 0-2 on the year.

Beginning with the doubles pairings, Biola was forced to rally from behind for the majority of the afternoon. Cal State LA collected two quick points with their one and three doubles pairing, 8-2 and 8-1 while Madison Swaney and Lauren Lee made their match a bit closer before losing, 8-5.

Singles play did not turn out much better for the Eagles as Cal State LA was able to take each point in two sets. Lee and Tinisee Kandakai were able to take three games from their opponent in the second set to make things more competitive. But nothing would prevent CSULA from winning its first match of the season.

Biola will bounce back quickly for its next match on Thursday, when the Eagles travel to Concordia University Irvine for another PacWest faceoff at 2:00 p.m.
