Biola Women’s Tennis gets its first win of the season with a 9-0 shutout of Hope International.

February 22, 2018

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Tennis finally got rewarded for all its hard work on Thursday, getting its first win of the season with a 9-0 sweep of Hope International.

Due to roster limitations, Hope International only had three players available for the matchup and defaulted five points to Biola. But Biola's roster still played excellent in the pairings that were actually competed on Thursday.

Lauren Lee and Lily Waterhouse set the tone for the singles matches by dominating the only doubles match of the day, 8-1.

Thereafter, Esther Lee cruised through the No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-1, while Tinisee Kandakai and Sarah Morgan also picked up straight-set victory to seal the sweep. With the wins, Esther Lee gets her second victory in No. 1 singles while Kandakai improves to 1-1 as the Eagles' No. 2.

Biola has to travel a long way for its next match. The Eagles return to PacWest matches on Saturday when they travel to St. George, Utah to face Dixie State.
