CHINO HILLS, Calif. --- Anna Cohee was a leader on her high school and club team, now she'll look to blossom into a leader as she joins Biola Swim & Dive for the next four years.

Cohee swims backstroke and freestyle and comes to Biola after four years as an Ayala High School Bulldog. She also swims with The Claremont Club, and has been since she was 12 years old.

She made CIF Finals in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:07.21 and won her league title in the 100-backstroke (:58.90). While accomplishing that, she managed to maintain tremendous academic achievement, earning the Scholar-Athlete All-League award for being the top-10 academically in her league.

Cohee was her team's "Most Inspirational" swimmer during her freshman and junior seasons and was "Most Improved" as a sophomore. She comes into Biola with her best 500-freestyle time being less than two seconds off the school record and her 100-backstroke time being just a half-second shy of the school record.

She's among the top 10 percent of her graduating high school class with a GPA over 4.00. She also earned the Foreign Language Association award for Spanish One. Once she gets to Biola, Cohee plans to major in human biology, with hopes of a career in physical therapy.

She attends Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, leads her high school swim team in a Bible study, loves to grill steak and enjoys reading and watching movies.

"At Biola, I am excited to be a part of a community of people seeking to grow their relationship with God and I want to be apart of the excellence that sprouts from placing God first in mindset," said Cohee. "It has always been a dream of mine to swim for a team that wants to praise God by giving their all in the pool, and I found that here at Biola."
