Signing Announcement for Abby Buckley

Biola Brings In Top Sprinter

Abby Buckley is her high school's top sprinter, she'll look to be just as fast at BU.

December 17, 2018

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. ---Biola's sprints program added another member with the commitment of class of 2019 graduate Abby Buckley. Buckley will run the 100m, 200m and 4x100m for Biola Track & Field beginning in the 2020 season.

"I was searching for a school with good academics and a good athletic program where I could grow as a student and an athlete. But I also wanted to go to a school where I could strengthen my relationship with God," said Buckley. "Within in the first 10 minutes of being on the campus and around the community, I could feel God's presence all around me."

Buckley is currently competing at Newbury Park High School, where she won team MVP honors her sophomore season and was the school's top sprinter during her junior season.

She earned scholar-athlete honors all four years and is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

When she's not studying or running track, Buckley enjoys going on hikes with friends and spending time playing with her two dogs. She's an active member of her church's youth group.

Once she arrives at Biola, Buckley plans to study kinesiology and has hopes of a career as a strength & conditioning coach.

Keep an eye out for Abby as she finishes out her senior year at Newbury Park and then gets set to lace them up at Biola in the fall.
