SPOKANE, Wash. --- As the Biola Eagles build on an NCCAA National Championship and strive for perennial contention at PacWest Championships, Head Coach Jane Carr has taken the first step to reloading her roster with the signing of Courtney Jackson.

Jackson will join Biola's women's golf team in the Fall of 2019 from Spokane, Washington, where she was a four-time all-league selection at Central Valley High School and qualified for the Washington WIAA 4A State Tournament this past May.

The Spokane native capped a junior year in which she won team MVP honors by placing in the top-25 at the state tournament with a 157 over the two-round competition, a score that bested almost 50 other golfers. Jackson will be up for back-to-back-to-back golf team MVP honors this year after winning Rookie of the Year as a freshman and was also an all-league basketball player while participating in three sports for the Bears (golf, basketball and swim).

"We are very excited that Courtney Jackson will be joining the Biola Women's Golf Team next year. She is a very dedicated athlete and what impressed me the most about her was the sheer amount of tournaments she has played as a junior golfer," saide Carr. "This summer alone she competed in 16 junior tournaments. She knows what it takes to be a top level player and continues to put herself in competitive situations. I believe she is going to be a steady contributor to the future success of our team."

Academically, Jackson has been listed on the honor roll each of the past two academic years and plans to major in journalism at Biola to equip her for a career as a sports writer.

"I chose Biola for multiple reasons, I had heard great things about the school and I love that everyone there will serve to assist me in my walk with the Lord," said Jackson. "And I am beyond excited to join one of the most elite NCAA DII golf programs! The coaches and the team are so amazing and I can't wait to become a part of it."

The Women's Golf Team will play five more tournaments and try to make more noise at the PacWest Championships this coming Spring before adding Jackson to a group that can have up to eight returning players and retain the full NCCAA National Champion travel party in Fall 2019.    More information about other incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
