Biola Softball adds Niki Ibarra to its list of new commits for 2020.

November 26, 2018

CERRITOS, Calif. --- Biola Softball adds a two-time league champion middle infielder in Nikolette Ibarra. Ibarra is from nearby Cerritos High School and also has an extensive club softball background to go along with her successful high school career.

"We're so excited to add Niki to the program not only because of her awesome name, but because of the diversity and athleticism she will bring to our team," said Head Coach Nikki Udria. "I am excited to see Niki's speed be broadcasted and to see her compete in an Eagles uniform."

Ibarra earned all-league honors in 2017 and 2018 in years two and three on the varsity team at CHS. She also let the team to league championships both those years and earned scholar-athlete recognition as well.

After winning the team's rookie of the year award in 2016 and most improved award in 2017, she heads into the 2018-19 year as the captain of the team as a senior.

She's been playing for the California Cruisers since 2015 and helped the team finish ninth in the nation in 14u ball a few years ago. In 2017, she helped the Cruisers to a championship in the Triple Crown Sports Toys 4 Tots 18u tournament.

"I chose Biola because it offered me everything I wanted in a college both religiously and academically," said Ibarra. "I saw it as an amazing opportunity to strengthen my relationship with Christ, as well as, shape me into a person who lives life through Him."

In her spare time she coaches the junior teams for the Cerritos Girls Softball organization and loves to go to Disneyland.

She plans to major in biology with a future career in wildlife rehabilitation. Catch Niki and the rest of this incoming class at Freedom Field in 2020.
