LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Softball announces its first signee in the early signing period, Rilee Ruvalcaba of nearby La Habra High School.
Ruvalcaba is one of three women to join the Eagles in the early signing time. The rest will be announced over the coming days.
"We're so happy to add Rilee to the program because of the great presence and leadership she will bring to our infield," said Head Coach
Nikki Udria. "I am excited to see Rilee's bat in our lineup and see her compete in an Eagles uniform."
Ruvalcaba is a standout middle infielder for the Highlanders, earning team MVP and all-league first team honors throughout her career at LHHS. She also won the Highlander Award, was a scholar-athlete and member of the Heritage Honors program.
In addition to excelling on the softball team, Ruvalcaba was a good all-around athlete, also playing water polo, tennis and golf for the Highlanders.
"I chose to play softball and further my education at Biola because I want to play the sport I love while serving God and the community at the same time," said Ruvalcaba. "I am really excited to be a part of the Biola family and can't wait to see where God leads me."
Ruvalcaba plans to major in psychology and work a career in child protection. She attends Eastside Christian Church. She will begin her time at Biola in fall of 2019 and you can catch her at Freedom Field beginning in 2020.
