CHANDLER, Ariz. --- The Biola Eagles Men's Golf Team joined 10 other teams at Whirlwind GC in Chandler for the ACU Firestorm Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday for an abbreviated 36-round tournament.

After finishing day one in seventh place at +20, Head Coach Cory Page's group cut three strokes off of their team score for a 305 in the second round on Tuesday to register the Eagles' best round-average since Biola's two events in late September. That led Biola to a seventh-place finish in the 11-team tournament with a score of 613.

The Eagles were lead from start to finish by junior Kaden Page, who took fourth place in the 75-player field by shooting one-over in both rounds. Page's total of 146 is his best score over 36-holes since his freshman season, when he shot an even-par 144 at the Embry-Riddle Spring Invitational in March 2017.

One of the top reasons for Page's excellent tournament was the Murrieta, California native's ability to rebound from the few bogeys he hit over Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, he followed an early bogey on three with a quick birdie on the par-three six hole and then neutralized his two bogeys on the back-nine with birdies on 12 and 14.

Then Page did more of the same on Tuesday. He moved onto the fourth hole after just two-strokes on three and birdied 12 to play even-par on the back nine. Page's ninth-place finish in the first top-10 finish of his collegiate career.

Following Page, senior Dominic Ariondo and Austin Bishop both carded 155's at the tournament to finish in the top-50 of the individual leaderboard. Bishop had the team's best improvement from Monday to Tuesday, shooting a 75 on his second playthrough to best his mark from day one by five strokes, while Ariondo joined Page and Scott Hatfield as the only three Eagles to record sub-80 scores in both rounds of the Invitational.

Hatfield had the best two-day stretch in his two-plus months with the team, shooting a 77 on Monday and a 79 on Tuesday to finish at +12 and outplay 25 other golfers.

The ACU Firestorm Fall Invitational also marked the final collegiate tournament for outgoing senior Ben Crumley, who finished out the tournament on a number of pleasant notes. In addition to shaving three strokes off of his first round score with an 81 on Tuesday, Crumley concluded his final round of collegiate golf with a birdie on his last hole.

"I'm going to miss traveling and playing with the guys, we a lot of fun traveling this fall season," said Crumley after Tuesday's round.

The ACU Firestorm Fall Invite completes the Eagles' fall segment to the 2018-19 season. Biola will return to competition on February 18, 2019, when the Eagles participate in the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Classic.
