GOODYEAR, Ariz. --- Biola Women's Golf followed up its record-setting Monday round with the exact same score (313) on Tuesday to smash the previous program record for a two-round tournament with a 626 (+50). The Eagles' previous best two-round mark was 634.
 
Biola's +50 put it in a three-way tie for sixth-place on the overall leaderboard when all was said and done at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate. The Eagles tied with the host school and Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). Head Coach Jane Carr's team was the highest ranked PacWest Conference school in the competition. They bested Holy Names by seven strokes and Point Loma by 25 strokes.
 
Jules Loibl once again led the way for Carr's squad on Tuesday. She shot a 73 on Monday and followed it up with a 74 today. Her two-round tally of 147 (+3) put her in a tie for fourth-place overall. Loibl had a very consistent round with eight pars and five birdies.

"It was really amazing to see Jules start the day three over in the first three holes and then fire off three-straight pars and three birdies in the next six holes," said Carr. "In the final three holes of the day she bounced back from a double bogey with two more birdies. We talked about being 'hungry for birdies' and she certainly went after them today carding five birdies. She is a very focused golfer on the course and plays with her whole heart."

Another newcomer, Marcel Manalo, was not far behind Loibl on this sunny day in the desert. She shot six strokes lower than her Monday score with a 75 during day two of the competition. She ended the tournament at 156 (+12) to just squeeze past Tori Roeske and become the Eagles' second-lowest scorer at the tournament. Manalo finished 21^st overall. Manalo carded four birdies on the afternoon.

"Though I knew freshman Marcel Manalo would contribute to this team, I had no idea how quickly," said Carr. "She really proved herself out there today by coming back with a 75. It is hard to believe that she is a freshman. She carries herself like a seasoned player and has such a quiet confident demeanor on the course."

Roeske added a few strokes on day two, but still shot a very respectable 81 on a challenging course. She ended at 158, just two strokes behind Manalo, to finish tied for 30^th.

"Tori Roeske is always such a solid steady anchor for our team," said Carr. "Even with three difficult holes today that added seven strokes to her scorecard, she still contributed a solid 81. What I love about Tori is that she knows how important every stroke is and never gives up."
 
Bella Larson shot a round two 85 and ended at 167 (+23) and Alexis Gopfert dropped two shots with a round two 83 to end at 168 (+24). They finished tied for 60^th and 62^nd in a field of 90 talented primarily NCAA Division II golf competitors.
 
Biola continues its season on Friday as it plays 36 holes head-to-head with Ottawa (Ariz.) in the National Christian College Athletic Association West Regional. The winner of this head-to-head matchup at Tuscany Falls Country Club will advance to the NCCAA National Championships in Palm Coast, Florida in mid-October.
